In making the album, Pålsson said that he aimed to create "uptempo happy songs that would ingrain themselves into your minds whether you want to or not, hopefully so much so that you’d go humming on them when not playing, and making you want to come back to the game even more." The soundtrack was released alongside VVVVVV and sold as a digital download or CD on Pålsson's website, in addition to his site on Bandcamp.
PPPPPP VVVVVV SOUNDTRACK MOD
The album contains a mod file to replace the in-game. On JPlsson released a power metal version of the soundtrack titled MMMMMM which was arranged and performed by guitarist Jules Conroy. The artist behind those tracks, Magnus Plsson (aka Souleye), released them last year in an album called PPPPPP. The complete soundtrack, titled PPPPPP, was released alongside VVVVVV and is sold as a music download or CD on Plsson's personal website. Complex, organic, emotive- if that's not perfection in a pseudo chiptune, I don't know what is. Pålsson aimed with this soundtrack to create a collection of uptempo and extremely catchy tunes that would make the player want to keep going back to the game for more. VVVVVV, last year's absolutely stellar indie platformer, had some similarly brilliant music.
